Connect to the Basis API
Take control of your panel beyond the app. Generate an API key and connect your Smart Panel to your own scripts, tools, and automations.
Who's this for?
The API is built for technical users who enjoy writing a bit of code. If you'd rather not, the Basis app and our Home Assistant integration cover most of the same ground.
What you can build
The Basis API gives you a programmatic way to read your panel's data and control your circuits. A few ideas to get you started:
- Pull live power and circuit data into your own dashboards or spreadsheets
- Toggle circuits on standby from your own scripts
- Build custom automations that respond to your home's energy use
- Integrate Basis into third-party tools, plugins, or smart home platforms
Getting your API key
- Head to home.wearebasis.com and log in with your Basis app credentials.
- Click API Keys.
- Generate a new key and give it a name you'll remember.
Include the key in your requests, and you're off.
Treat your API keys like passwords — keep them private and don't share them.
